Gulet Blue Cruise

Gulet boat in the Blue CruiseKnown as "Blue Cruise" or "Blue Voyage", the special wooden hulled yachts named "Gulet" are crewed charter boats for your comfort while sailing around Turkish coast. The Gulets go with engines most of the times rather than sailing, some have sails too but these are just for the "show". Usually these trips are done between May - October, being July-August the "peak season".

Going on a Blue Cruise in Turkey is one of the best ways to spend your holidays in the tranquil waters of the Mediterranean and Aegean. The Turkish coastline is known as Turkish Riviera and offers crystal clear sea with sandy or pabble beaches with Blue Flag, green nature, blue sky, many historic and archaeological sites.

To further enhance your Blue Cruise experience, a variety of additional activities are available. You can explore different Gulet charter options to find the perfect match for your preferences, ranging from historical tours to culinary experiences and water sports.

Gulet trips can be organized with private or cabin charter gullets for couples, families, friends or groups. There is a wide range of gulets in Turkey in various sizes and outfit for all budgets; from standard to luxury, with or without air conditioning, three to sixteen cabins, and so on. Your cruise holiday can include paragliding, diving, fishing, or water sports too, depending on the equipments and amenities of the Gulet. Cabins have private toilet and shower, but they're usually small.

Major departure points for these trips along the Turkish coast are Bodrum, Marmaris, Gocek, Fethiye, Kemer and Antalya. There are many "Blue cruise" routes in Turkey, most of them are concentrated around Gokova gulf and Hisaronu gulf, basically between Bodrum and Antalya area, as well as surrounding Greek islands. The itineraries might be changed dependending on weather and docking conditions. Of course the captain has the final say.

What to bring? First of all you should definately travel light and bring easy luggage such as soft bags because the space in Gulet cabins are very limited, this is not a cruise ship! In the luggage you pack light simple clothes with a wind proof jacket for the cool evenings, sport shoes for on shore visits, swimming suits, hat and sun cream, mosquito repellent, personal care items and your regular medications. If you plan to sleep on the deck you may need to bring a sleeping bag, or get a blanket from the crew.
