There are around 500 islands, islets and rocks in Turkey. These are mostly small size islands that are located in different seas and lakes. The largest Turkish islands are Gökçeada (280 km² / 108 mi²), Marmara (117 km² / 45 mi²), and Bozcaada (39 km² / 15 mi²).
There are also some small islands in the lakes, such as Akdamar island in Van Lake and Can island in Egirdir lake.
